The article metadata are structured in XML format compatible with JATS (Journal Article Tag Suite), which allows automatic harvesting and processing by indexing systems and scientific repositories. The OAI-PMH interface is regularly tested with protocol validators, ensuring technical compliance with the OAI-PMH Protocol and the correct functioning of query verbs (for example, Identify, ListRecords, ListIdentifiers).
This infrastructure ensures that JCOM América Latina articles can be easily identified, harvested, and integrated into open access aggregators and directories, strengthening the journal’s visibility and interoperability within the scientific communication ecosystem.
